Femke van Delft is an award winning contemporary artist selected 2004 year by the Vancouver Public Library to create Viewpoint Ahead, the first site-specific installation in the architecturally renowned central branch. Her most recent project, Missing, is a three-part guerilla installation opening in December at Access Artist Run Center. Part 1 of Missing is The Diana Project, a collaboration with director Johanna Mercer that internationally premiered at Vienna1s Ohne Kohle Film Festival and the 2004 Vancouver International Film Festival. Van Delft has won the People's Choice Award in 2001 at BC's contemporary biannual art exhibition, Artropolis. In 2000 she was a featured artist at The Works international art festival in Edmonton. In 1999, van Delft received the visual arts nomination for the Yamaha Horizon Award at the BC Festival of the Arts, held in Victoria. Van Delft has been creating large-scale installation art and performance installation art for 10 years and is also a professional photographer of 15 years. |
